WINTER SKIN CARE TIPS

WINTER SKIN CARE TIPS

Winter can be harsh on the skin, causing it to become dry, flaky, and irritated. To keep your skin healthy and hydrated during the winter months, here are some of my tips but remember our philosophy is about bespoke skin care so this is some general advice to get you started:

Moisturise regularly
Use a richer moisturiser during the winter months to help prevent dryness  . Look for moisturisers that contain hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerine and ceramides & she butter.

Avoid hot showers
Hot water can strip the skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation. Instead, use lukewarm water and limit your shower time to 10 minutes or less .

Use a humidifier
The dry winter air can suck moisture out of your skin, leaving it dry and itchy. Using a humidifier can help add moisture back into the air and prevent your skin from drying out. I also love the Panasonic steamer that can be used in this way too as well as to gently deep cleanse the skin.

Exfoliate gently
Exfoliating can help remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover, but it's important to do it gently. Use a gentle exfoliator once or twice a week to avoid irritating your skin. Look for enzymatic exfoliants or Lactic acid used in moderation or with guidance.

Protect your skin
Wear protective clothing like gloves, hats, and scarves to protect your skin from the cold, dry air. Don't forget to apply sunscreen to exposed skin, as the sun's rays can still damage your skin in the winter. I also regularly slick on Albus & Flora lip products that have an SPF, hydrating waxes & oil plus a hint of colour. Perfect for those Winter walks or run sessions.

Stay hydrated
Drinking plenty of water can help keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. I also love adding a small spoon of Rejuvenated H30 hydration powder to mine each day to ensure my cells are taking enough water on board.

Eat a healthy diet
Eating a diet rich in vitamins and minerals can help keep your skin healthy and glowing. Foods like avocados, nuts, and fatty fish are rich in healthy fats that can help keep your skin moisturised by aiding the barrier function.
