Tips for managing hormone-related skin issues

Tips for managing hormone-related skin issues

As stated in our previous blog post - How do hormones affect the skin? - hormones play a crucial role in skin health and appearance, influencing various skin conditions and changes throughout life.

Here are some tips for managing hormone related skin issues:

  1. Maintain a Consistent Skincare Routine:
  • Example: Use gentle, non-comedogenic products to keep your skin clean and moisturised, which can help manage acne and dryness. Our cleanser and hydrator are the perfect duo when it comes to resetting and restoring the skin balance and could be used for 4 weeks with no other products (aside from sunscreen) to great effect.
  1. Diet and Hydration:
  • Example: Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats, and drink plenty of water to support overall skin health.
  1. Manage Stress:
  • Example: Practice stress-reducing activities such as yoga, meditation, or regular exercise to help keep cortisol levels in check.
  1. Consult a Healthcare Provider:
  • Example: If you experience severe hormonal acne or other skin issues, consult a Doctor who specialises in Hormones or endocrinologist for potential treatments like hormonal therapy or medications.
  1. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT):
  • Example: Post-menopausal women may benefit from HRT to help maintain skin thickness and moisture, but this should be discussed with a healthcare provider.

It is not enough to focus on just one element. A 3D approach is required when it comes to skin health.
